VoltAge:Genesis Version 8.2 “Magician’s Favor” Update Dev Notes

  • NOTE: Players who previously completed the demo and chose to return to the mainland will be able to return to the point where the demo left off by speaking to the man next to the bus stop in Pedregal Springs.  
  • Changes to Existing Quests
    • General Change to Quests
      • Adjusted several quests where most party members leave the group temporarily…players should now have a harder time accidentally starting fights with an incomplete party.
      • Affected quests include:
        • Heroes and Thieves                         (Malcolm / Jurgen Quest)
        • The Practical Magician, Pt. 2        (Allan Storyline Quest)
        • The Runaway Crook                        (Bounty Hunter Quest)
        • Training the Heart                            (Isaiah Storyline Quest)
    • A Mercenary’s Heart
      • Changed end of quest dialogue to indicate the amount of money / the name of the gun received based on player choice.
    • Supply and Demand XXX
      • Fixed an issue where Butler would take the player’s Black Carapace pieces and not give them back if the party did not have enough to complete the quest.
  • Changes to Existing Areas
    • Battler’s Dungeon
      • Adjusted the event square at the entrance to prevent the player from accidentally causing themselves to be hassled repeatedly about buying a Member’s Pass.
    • Estancia
      • Moved the Scavver near the VolTech building and adjusted her dialogue to help the player find the main entrance more easily.
      • Added text alerting the player that they will need a Crowbar to force the back door of VolTech HQ open.
    • Pedregal Springs
      • Fixed an issue where the “Silver Band” could be obtained multiple times.
      • Made the “Silver Band” discoverable outside of the prologue.
      • Zach and Casey have another cat now.
  • Changes to Characters
    • Allan’s passive skill “Savage Focus” has been tweaked
      • The amount of AP restored by ‘Savage Focus” has been reduced from 2% to 1% of the physical damage dealt.
    • Gregory’s starting weapon has been changed
      • No longer begins with the “Paper Fan”
      • Now begins with the “Cracked Focus”
  • Changes to Weapons
    • The “Focus Crystal” category has been tweaked, as follows:
      • The default “Attack” option is now called “Dynamo” when using Crystals
    • The “Sidearms – Magic Guns” category has been tweaked, as follows:
      • Basic Attacks by these weapons now deal mental (rather than physical) damage.
      • The default “Attack” option is now called “Dynamo” when using M. Guns
      • Affected Weapons:
        • Toy Gun
        • Stun Gun
        • 0.00 Absolute
        • Aldaraia II
        • Harumaru
    • “0.00 Absolute” tweaked
      • Now deals only <Ice> damage, rather than <Ice / Pierce>
      • No longer compatible with gun mods
    • “Aldaraia II” tweaked
      • Now deals only <Holy> damage, rather than <Holy / Pierce>
      • No longer compatible with gun mods
    • “Harumaru” tweaked
      • Now deals <Neutral> damage, rather than <Pierce>
    • “Denaze’s Spear” fixed
      • Weapon now correctly prevents player from equipping shields
  • Changes to Skills
    • None
  • General Changes / Bug Fixes
    • Changed some dialogue for grammar, spelling, etc.
    • Fixed more squares which were mistakenly marked as passable.
      • Players can no longer go mountain climbing in The Pilgrim’s Way
      • Players can no longer go mountain climbing near the Trabunco Checkpoint
    • Added an “FYI” message for new players telling them about how certain weapons can change the basic attack option.
    • Added dialogue telling the player when a Hooked Axe can be used on certain bushes.
    • Added an “FYI” message for players telling them that they can jump over narrow water.
