Official Version 3.1 Update Log


Hello everyone! Below is the full list of changes which have been made for the Version 3.1 update, titled "Crime and Punishment". All changes which affect gameplay will apply to both the demo AND the full game, however in the case of new quests, some may be very difficult or even impossible to unlock in the demo due to their connection to the main storyline. There are a ton of big changes in this one, so be sure to check it out!

  • -NOTE: Players who previously completed the demo and chose to return to the mainland will be able to return to the point where the demo left off by speaking to the man next to the bus stop in Pedregal Springs.  
  • -13 new quests

  • -New Areas Opened:
    • Party can now enter Monolito Canyon.
      • Once starting the first quest for Eight of Spades, the party can begin entering.
      • Located along the western edge of the Deadlands, the valley is home to countless Mareman military robots, as well as the restless spirits of Deadhanders killed during The Reclamation.
      • Additionally, the party will be able to enter the Monolito Weapons Plant (West) after beginning the Deadhander quest “Locked and Loaded”.
      • Additionally, the party will be able to enter the Monolito Weapons Plant (East) after beginning the Deadhander quest “Crime and Punishment”.
    • Party can now enter Old Panavinto (Interior)
      • Area will be accessible from the start of the game; however, the enemies will likely be too strong for most parties the first time passing through this area. (Enemy Level 35)
      • Accessible from the Old Panavinto Outskirts, the Interior is home to a wide variety of threats including hostile wildlife, Sentry Drones, and Scavvers.
      • The Interior is a large maze of ruined buildings and destroyed streets, with multiple pathways leading to the Old Panavinto Depths.
    • Party can now enter Old Panavinto Depths
      • Area will be accessible from the start of the game; however, the enemies will likely be far too strong for most parties the first time passing through this area. (Enemy Level 50)
      • Accessible from the Old Panavinto Interior, the Depths are home to a wide variety of threats including hostile wildlife, Sentry Drones, and Scavvers.
      • Though much smaller than the Interior, the Depths conceal a number of winding pathways and valuable loot for the player to discover
      • The final Hunters’ Guild quest, “Vengeance and Valor” will require the player to track down a massive dragon hiding in the Depths.
  • -Changes to Existing Areas
    • MORE REALISTIC LIGHTING EFFECTS ADDED TO SOME AREAS
      • The following areas now have limited visibility. In some cases, visibility will be limited to the area of the “Flashlight” (NOTE: The Flashlight does NOT need to be equipped to function):

    • Some areas have been tweaked to improve aesthetics when talking to NPCs
      • Where possible, the player will no longer be covered by a text window when talking to NPCs.
    • Encounter tables changed for St. Joseph’s Road
      • The “Sampa” enemies have been removed from the encounter table
      • Frequency of remaining encounter types have been tweaked as follows:
        • There is now a 44% chance to encounter [Anidade x3]
        • There is now a 22% chance to encounter [Anidade x2 + Goni x1]
        • There is now a 33% chance to encounter [Goni x2]
  • -Changes to Party Members
    • The following characters will be removed from the party:
      • Kay
      • Willard
    • STARK’S SKILL PROGRESSION HAS BEEN CHANGED.
      • Stark now learns “Slumber” at Level 48 (+4)
      • If Stark has already learned “Slumber” and is not Level 48 or higher, he will retain the ability and will not learn anything at Level 48.
    • BRIDGET’S SKILL PROGRESSION HAS BEEN CHANGED
      • Bridget no longer learns “Douse” at Level 75
      • Bridget now learns “Holy Water” at Level 75
      • If Bridget has already reached level 75, entering the world map will swap “Douse” for “Holy Water” in her skill list.
  • -Changes to Enemies
    • All standard enemies have updated stat immunities (Poison, Rust, Etc.) See below for details on individual monsters.
    • All “Glowing” enemy variants are now immune to Nausea

        • Unique variants of the Spooklight cannot be Banished or Cursed
      • Drop rate for “Ectoplasm” has changed
        • Previously, enemy had a 50% chance to drop a single Ectoplasm, and a separate 50% chance to drop a second Ectoplasm.
        • Enemy now has a 100% chance to drop a single Ectoplasm. Drop rate for second Ectoplasm remains unchanged.
    • Steel Legion Gunner
      • Immune to all robot status effects
      • Can be affected by all organic status effects
        • Has a +50% resistance to Silence / Confuse
      • Can be affected by Trip / Burn / Curse / Drown / Cold Sweat
    • Steel Legion Specialist

      • NEW PASSIVE TRAIT
        • Treehugger Chanters now have a passive 2% HP/AP Regen
          • This was meant to be consistent with a passive trait of the “Treehugger Garb", which they have a chance to drop.
    • Treehugger Warrior
      • Immune to all robot status effects
      • Can be affected by most organic status effects
        • Has a 50% resistance to Poison / Blind / Stun / Headache
      • Can be affected by Trip / Burn / Curse / Drown / Cold Sweat
      • NEW PASSIVE TRAIT
        • Treehugger Warriors now have a passive 4% HP/AP Regen
          • This was meant to be consistent with a passive trait of the armor pieces which they have a chance to drop (Type of armor varies with level, but all carry the passive HP/AP Regen trait).

      • Immune to all robot status effects
      • Immune to most organic status effects
        • Can be affected by Silence / Confuse
      • Can be affected by Banish / Curse
    • Warbot (Model-F)
      • Can be affected by all robot status effects
      • Immune to all organic status effects

    • Warbot (Model-K)
      • Can be affected by all robot status effects

  • -Changes to BOSS Enemies
    • Abyssal Spooklight
      • The special trait for the rare enemy variant “Abyssal Spooklight” has changed
        • Enemy now absorbs [Holy] element attacks as health
        • Enemy no longer absorbs [Dark] element attacks as health
    • J. Green Dragon
      • Enemy has been assigned elemental weaknesses / resistances, as follows:
      • Weaknesses
        • Ice, Water, Pierce, Crush (125% Damage)
        • Electric (150% Damage
      • Resistances
        • Fire, Wind, Holy, Machine (75% Damage)
        • Earth (50% Damage)
      • Additionally, the J. Green Dragon has three (3) separate chances to drop <Tough Skin>, with a 25% chance for each drop
    • Scarred Antlion
      • The Scarred Antlion’s “Overdrive” now functions correctly
        • At 20% or less of its Max HP, the Scarred Antlion will go “Berserk”
  • -Changes to Items
    • The following items no longer restore AP when used:
      • Home-Grown Veggies
      • Cave Mushrooms
      • Medicinal Herbs
      • Bizarre Fruit
      • Strange Root
      • Lazarus Serum
        • Instead, they now grant HP and AP Regen for a limited time when used.
        • The items listed above still restore a certain amount of HP immediately when used.
    • The “Aegis FG” accessory now correctly reduces all elemental damage by 12.5% of the normal amount, rather than reducing it to 12.5% of the normal amount (sorry!).
  • -Changes to Skills
    • Minor change to Allan’s passive skill “Savage Focus”
      • Now reflects that Allan gains AP back from ANY attack with which he deals physical damage, not just basic attacks
    • “Diamond Drill” skill now has an animation
    • “Glow Dust” has been tweaked
      • In addition to the normal HP Regen effect, has a chance to stack HP Regen x2
    •  “Holy Water” has been tweaked
      • In addition to dealing damage, the skill will now “Banish” spectral enemies, killing them instantly.
    • “Regenerate” has been tweaked
      • In addition to the normal HP Regen effect, has a chance to stack HP Regen x2
    •  “Silence Shot” now correctly has a chance to cause both “Silence” and “Nausea”
      • Previously, the skill was only able to cause “Silence”
    • “Slumber” now correctly affects all enemies in the party
    • “Vitrify” now has an animation
    • “Vivify” has been tweaked
      • In addition to the normal HP Regen effect, has a chance to stack HP Regen x2
    • “Zephyr Rush” has been tweaked
      • Now strikes entire enemy party, rather than three random targets
      • Animation has been adjusted
    • Minor changes to some skill descriptions for consistency
    • Skills whose only purpose is to reduce an enemy’s stats (such as “Frustrate”) have had their chance of success increased to 50%
      • Skills which carry a chance of stat reduction as a secondary effect have not changed (25% chance)
    • The following skills have been adjusted so only certain enemies are affected by them (See “Changes to Enemies” above):
      • Banish – Has a chance to instantly defeat spirits
      • Blackout – Has a chance to instantly defeat robots
      • Cold Sweat – Reduces resistance to status effects
      • Curse – Reduces all of a foe’s base stats
      • Drown – Has a chance to instantly defeat organic foes
      • Magnet Field – Greatly reduces Agility of metallic foes
      • Rust – Reduces all of a foe’s base stats
    • New Enemy Skill: “Blinding Spores” – Releases a cloud of spores which has a high chance to cause “Blind” in all organic foes.
  • -General Changes / Bug Fixes
    • Fixed a critical bug that was causing the game to freeze upon completion of the Hunter’s Guild quest “A Colossal Undertaking”.
    • Got rid of the annoying log that blocks the path in Marecocha Woods…you’re welcome!
    • Fixed the statues in the Yuramayo Cavern / Ruins
    • Dry lakebeds / rivers can now be crossed at certain locations
    • Players can no longer climb the walls in the Mateyo Pub
    • Animation now occurs when Bridget uses her version of the “Sanctuary” skill
    • Amelia no longer teleports to an adjacent square when you begin the “Icarus” quest
    • Added a line of dialogue to indicate where Matla goes if you buy her hut
    • Made a slight visual change to the models for “Ford”
    • “MP Regen Rate” has been changed to “AP Regen Rate” in the attributes screen
    • “Crit. Hit Rate” has been changed to “Crit. Rate” in the attributes screen
    • Duration of negative and positive states has been tweaked for consistency
      • Most negative status effects with a “duration” now last 2-5 rounds
      • Most positive status effects now last 2-5 rounds
    • The “Machete” is now required to enter Unktomi’s Hut
    • Entering the “Empty Garage” in Pedregal Springs no longer stops the music while inside
    • Gregory no longer comments about Chusca Yacer when he is not in the party
    • A bug which was preventing the Lumva Beetle from dropping their rare component “Large Mandible” has been fixed. Standard drop rate is 12.5%.
      • Additionally, the component can be purchased from one of the Scavvers living in the Old Panavinto Depths for 387 Volts each.
      • As a result of these changes, players will now be able to complete the item gathering quest “Supply and Demand VIII”, located in the Battler’s Dungeon.
    • Changed the name of the “Damaged Katana” to “Practice Katana”.
    • Added “Salvaged CyTech” to Nathan’s travelling store (one location only!)
    • Nyla can now scavenge additional items from broken machinery!
      • Searching any pile of broken scrap with Nyla in the party will yield additional salvage. This change also applies to piles of scrap which were searched prior to the current update.
      • Note that some Screwdriver locations require Nyla in the party to use effectively
    • Added two new graves to the Heroes’ Rest Cemetery (Hunter-tier Patreon Supporters)
